Description

Soft and fluffy biscuits perfect for soaking up gravy or enjoying on their own.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour (312g)
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar (12g)
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder (14g)
  • 1 tsp Salt (6g)
  • 2 cups Buttermilk (480ml)
  • 1/2 cup Salted butter (113g, melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). While the oven is heating, get a large mixing bowl.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in the mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Stir in the buttermilk until the mixture becomes a batter.
  4. Grease a baking dish with melted butter. Pour the batter into the dish and drizzle the remaining melted butter on top.
  5. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and fluffy.

Notes

Use the spoon-and-level method for accurate flour measurement to avoid dense biscuits. Don’t overmix the batter; mix just until combined. Ensure your butter is just melted, not hot, to avoid cooking the dough.
