Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare three 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Incorporate the boiling water into the batter.
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Make the fudge frosting by beating the butter and gradually adding powdered sugar and cocoa.
- Prepare the ganache by pouring heated heavy cream over chopped chocolate.
