  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare three 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  4. Add the wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  5. Incorporate the boiling water into the batter.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
