Description
Hearty and delicious Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches made with tender beef, rich broth, and melted provolone, perfect for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients

- 3–4 pounds beef chuck roast, trimmed of excess fat
- 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or Italian seasoning)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 6–8 French rolls or hoagie buns, toasted
- 6–8 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the chuck roast and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Add sliced onion and minced garlic to the bottom of the crockpot.
- Place the seasoned roast on top of the onions and garlic.
- In a bowl, mix together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce (if using), and dried thyme; pour over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until the roast is tender.
- Remove the roast, shred with two forks, and return to the crockpot to soak in the broth.
- Toast the French rolls at 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Assemble sandwiches by piling shredded beef onto the bottom of each roll and topping with provolone cheese; place the top half of the roll on each sandwich.
- Serve with warm broth for dipping.
Notes
To enhance flavor, consider searing the roast before slow-cooking.
