Description

Shepherd’s pie with ground beef, veggies, and mashed potatoes, baked until golden. A cozy, family-friendly dinner with a festive twist.


Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, diced

2 carrots, diced

1 cup peas

2 garlic cloves

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup beef broth

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp thyme

1/2 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper

4 cups mashed potatoes

1/2 cup cheddar (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven 375°F.

2. Cook onion, carrots, garlic in oil.

3. Add beef, cook until browned.

4. Stir in tomato paste, broth, Worcestershire, thyme, paprika, salt, pepper.

5. Add peas; transfer to dish.

6. Spread mashed potatoes on top; decorate if desired.

7. Sprinkle cheese.

8. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use buttery mashed potatoes for smooth topping.

Make ahead and refrigerate before baking.

Freeze unbaked up to 2 months.
