Description

Bright and zesty dessert bars filled with fresh lemon flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch pan.
  2. Mix together flour and powdered sugar, then cut in butter until crumbly. Press mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Whisk together granulated sugar, eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour lemon mixture over the crust and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until set.
  6. Allow to cool, then cut into bars and serve.

Notes
