Description
A delightful dish that combines crispy, juicy chicken with a sweet and spicy butter sauce, perfect for gatherings and comfort meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken pieces (legs or thighs)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix the buttermilk and hot sauce together. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, covering them well. Let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for better flavor.
- Prepare the coating: In another bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat the oil: In a deep pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.
- Dredge the chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- Fry the chicken: Place the coated chicken into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the honey butter sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter, then stir in the honey and cayenne pepper.
- Drizzle and serve: Remove the chicken from the oil, drain on paper towels, then drizzle the honey butter sauce over before serving.
Notes
Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour for best results. Maintain oil temperature to avoid greasy chicken.
