Ingredients

- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- Mix together the sourdough discard, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until well mixed. If using chocolate chips, fold them in now.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares. Enjoy your guilt-free brownies!
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container for freshness. They can be kept at room temperature for a day or two, in the refrigerator for up to a week, or frozen for up to three months.
