Description

Delicious and rich brownies made with sourdough discard, perfect for a guilt-free treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix together the sourdough discard, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until well mixed. If using chocolate chips, fold them in now.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares. Enjoy your guilt-free brownies!
